Vintage African Zulu LLala Palm handwoven Beer Basket. Signed w/label. 6.5" X 9"

Description

Vintage African Zulu llala Palm hand woven beehive-shape beer basket with attached original label signed with the name of the maker, Jaby Ngubine.  When filled with liquid, the weaving is so firm and fine, the basket is waterproof.  The beehive shape is covered with diamond (feminine) and triangle (male) symbols.  These baskets are often given as wedding presents in Africa Zululand. The handmade Zulu baskets are woven by women at home, considered as rural folk art and are a dying art form.
The basket is in very good condition and is solid and tight with no defects. See all photos for condition.
