Description

This is a beautiful ANTIQUE/VINTAGE AFRICAN (Massi?) GOARD WATER CONTAINER. It has a (long detached) glass beaded leather strap/handle and a stitched leather cap. The glass beading is over a small white shell in the middle. It has been stitch and pitch bonded/repaired in the middle and is VERY light weight at under 3/4lb. This is NOT just a gourd form... It' a hollowed out (VERY thin) gourd (or 2)… see images.
It measures approx. 20"l x 4.5"w and 2.5" at the lip.
